What to Carry (Essentials)
Good Grip Shoes
The rocks near waterfalls and caves can be extremely slippery. Avoid heels or smooth sandals. Wear proper sports or trekking shoes.
Hydration is Key
Carry at least 2 liters of water per person, along with Glucose, Electral powder, and energy bars to avoid dehydration in the forest.
Bamboo Stick
Buy or rent a bamboo stick at the starting point. It provides excellent support for your knees while climbing and helps keep monkeys away.
Light Backpack
Keep your hands free. Carry a comfortable, strong backpack to store your water, snacks, and mobile phones safely.
Wildlife & Health Safety
🐒 Monkey Menace (Be Careful)
Ahobilam forest has a large population of monkeys. Never carry food items, prasadam, or water bottles openly in your hands or transparent covers. Keep everything securely zipped inside your backpack. Do not try to feed or tease them.
⏱️ Forest Timings
Always start your treks early in the morning (around 6:30 AM). Make sure to return to the base by 5:00 PM. Trekking in the deep forest after sunset is strictly restricted and highly dangerous due to wild animals.
❤️ Health Advisories
The "Hard Level" treks (Jwala, Ugra Stambham) are physically demanding. Pilgrims with severe Asthma, heart conditions, high blood pressure, or severe knee/joint pains are advised to avoid these specific steep routes.
